Freeform Lace Shawls

First I wish everyone a very creative and abundant new year.

I made some new freeform lace shawls this week. Together with my daughter we have been assembling, stitching until we couldn't anymore.
Here are some pictures already, more to come:

This is what happens when my daughter doesn't feel like modelling.

You can find them all and many more in the shawls section in my etsy shop

Here I am again

Two months have passed without even posting a word or a picture on my blog. Well life happens. We moved house, we were involved in the 10th Australasian Permaculture Convergence and all this took my focus off somewhere else.
I have been making some stuff though in between all the rest.
Here are a few of my new pieces:

A Freeform Week

Last week, I decided to make some more freeform lace shawls. These are made by sewing pieces of felt and nuno felt together with recycled ribbon. My daughter (who is also in the photos) gave me a hand with the sewing, which was great. We went for white and blue. Here they are:

Three beautiful shawls are gone.

Three beautiful felt art shawls have found a new wearer during the last week.

Violets
This purple nuno felt art shawl is very light and has 3 violets felted in it. It was dyed with natural dyes, logwood purple and brazilwood.

Evergreen
This is one of my freeform felt art shawls, incorporating different silk and recycled cotton fabrics.
The wool and the silk are dyed with indigo and mango leaves, the purple wool and silk were dyed with logwood purple.

Lavender Breeze
A balanced blend of silk and wool, in calming lavender colours. The silk was dyed with logwood purple and the wool with lac, both in very light colours. I love this one, it is soft and flowing.
